Full Description

Granberg 3/8" .058 ripping chain for chainsaw milling, designed for smooth cutting along the grain. This chain has the unique features of scoring and clearing cutters. 110 drive links.

Granberg ripping chain is specifically designed for cutting along the grain when milling timber, producing a smoother and more consistent finish than standard ripping chains. Unlike conventional chains, Granberg ripping chain uses a specialised cutter sequence to improve efficiency and control during milling applications.

This chain features a combination of scoring cutters and clearing cutters working together:

  • Scoring cutters lightly scribe the wood fibres ahead of the cut, reducing tearing and helping to produce a cleaner surface finish
  • Clearing cutters follow behind, removing the material efficiently and maintaining steady cutting progress

This sequence reduces vibration, improves cutting smoothness, and helps the chain move through the timber more consistently during milling.

Ideal for use with chainsaw mills, ripping chain is suited to both occasional and regular milling work where accuracy and finish are important. It provides improved control compared to standard chain types when cutting boards or planks from logs.

NOTE: These chains are likely to be discontinued once sold out.
